Yesterday was a pretty good day for me. I got some cleaning done which is one of my major goals for this summer. I swear, someday, we are going to be like real people and get organized. I spent the moments in between cleaning going back and forth in email with a friend of mine. He is wicked smart, which is something that has always annoyed me. He's one of those smart patient people. He lets you say what you want, makes you explain your reasons and then after he's given you enough room to be wrong he shows you the waywardness of your ways. He drives me nuts.
He used to be political. We worked--kind of together--for a time. Now, he's all grown up with a family and a successful business and politics is not his main focus. He's one of those well-rounded individuals. Did I mention he drive me nuts?
Anyway, the conversation ended up being about race. It started out about Joe Biden but because I hadn't talked to him in a while we did the whole "clean and articulate" thing. Oddly enough, there was a debate last night for the Democratic candidate for President where race and things related were the focus.
Here is the transcript. (The debate transcript, not the email exchange.)
Consider this your open thread.

Man Chris I read about 10 pages and I couldn't take it anymore. It was torture...
So...
the government needs to step in and regulate us because mothers don't know how to talk to or take care of their own little kids ie: it takes a village.
we need to redistribute the wealth!
our economy is not really booming (dispite an attack on our shores on 9-11 in a major US city, and a major hurricane too), and as Hillary says "in the 90's it was better"(can you say denial is a river in Egypt?) http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1092602/posts)
...dear heavens, my brain is going to explode if I continue... LOL
BTW somebody in the debate mentioned taking care of the problems in our "barrios" and the definition of barrio is : an urban area in a Spanish-speaking country.
Happy Friday to you! :0)
