Everything's coming up roses...
Over at Michelle Malkin's site, she and the conservative base are in a tizzy about a New York Times piece which shows that our government knows that Iraq is about a quarter of an inch from CHAOS.
While I understand the discussion on printing classified information, I don't understand how it is possible to COMPLETELY IGNORE what is contained within the government slide. While the President is busy maintaining that we are making progress in Iraq--his own people don't believe it.
The private contractors are on their way out having not accomplished what they set out to do because of security.
The Iraqi government is making military decisions for our troops
and yet, democracy is on the march.
Oh, and the President has announced that Rumsfeld will be in charge for the next two years.

OK. I will stop holding my breathe.

In comparison to the chaos in Afghanistan...Chaos in Iraq isn't so bad, I guess, from the President's perspective...:0)

But, but, but, but, Iraq didn't have any WMDs.
"The Web site, “Operation Iraqi Freedom Document Portal,” was a constantly expanding portrait of prewar Iraq. Its many thousands of documents included everything from a collection of religious and nationalistic poetry to instructions for the repair of parachutes to handwritten notes from Mr. Hussein’s intelligence service. It became a popular quarry for a legion of bloggers, translators and amateur historians.
Among the dozens of documents in English were Iraqi reports written in the 1990s and in 2002 for United Nations inspectors in charge of making sure Iraq had abandoned its unconventional arms programs after the Persian Gulf war. Experts say that at the time, Mr. Hussein’s scientists were on the verge of building an atom bomb, as little as a year away.."
