They are missing the point...
Michelle Malkin and the usual group of conservative blogs are doing their thing--again. This time, their source of outrage is a DNC web ad that showed Canadian soldier where a US soldier should be. See here...while the error is a stupid one, seems to me the outrage is typical conservative crap--all about appearances and nothing about substance...
Blackfive says, "how screwed up must you be to post about how much your party supports the troops, but not know who your troops are?" and LGF is hot on the trail of a photoshopped moment...
where, however, is the outrage as how our troops have been treated rather than how it is portrayed?
Bush Proposed $10 Billion in Veterans Health Care Cuts Over Five Years.Bush Tried To Impose New User Fees and Double Prescription Drug Co-Payments For Veterans -- Driving 1 Million Veterans Out of the System - For Fourth Year in a Row
Bush Blocked Access to VA Health Care For Some Veterans For Third Year in a Row; Over 500,000 Locked Out of System
52,000 Veterans on Waiting Lists Nationwide; Veterans Groups Believe Number is Understated
Bush Budget Refused To End The Disabled Veterans' Tax.
Bush Budget Failed To End The Military Families' Tax.
Bush Budget Failed To End The Military Families' Tax.
those things don't even begin to talk about the cuts that have been made to services for soldier's families and cuts made to military housing or that the equipment isn't fixed and stop loss and extended tours and no beds at mental health facilities for soldiers...
so everyone get outraged at the mistake made by the computer guy at the DNC--who obviously needs a civics lesson--if you jump up and down enough, maybe no one will notice that US soldiers and their famileis are being bent over a chair by this adminsitration...
can you tell it is a Monday morning?
Chris

The posting of the picture of Canadian soldier may be just a stupid error, but even more stupid is the decision to replace it with a photo of an American flag that appears to have been partially burned. How dense are they at Democrats.org?

Chris - The photoshop and payment info on the photo are pretty irrelevant.
If you want to argue about who is letting down the troops, I could go point for point with you about the Democrats too. [you forgot to mention the 32million that Hillary had added to the budget for military photon research in NY - I think we could agree that we could be spending our dollars better across the board.]
If you were to say, however, that nearly all politicians basically SUCK, then I might agree with you.

Bent over a chair? What has tough spending control got to do with more DNC misinformation? Who's bent over what chair?

15 psychiatric beds at Ft. Benning and a private hospital handling the overflow that is full and a ten month waiting period for a soldier with signs of PTSD to get help is bent over a chair--
and BlackFive--almost all politicians suck--there we agree--we can not expect the men and women of the military to go and fight wars for us and then not take care of them as we promised--Rumsfeld sets the budget for these things--so i think he sucks most of all

What is your source for that list, Chris? Because I'm not buying any item on it...you're going to have to do better than using Democratic Party talking points.....

I'm sure you have some personal concern about the Ft. Benning numbers you quote, and I hope whatever it might be is earmarked for improvement. However, the VA encompasses almost 200,000 people in 150 some facilities, not counting affiliate outsourse clinics and programs. They treat tens of thousands of returning troops and continued programs to expand those efforts with states and communities continue. We expect our government to take care of our brave soldiers AND to administer these massive programs with some fiduciary responsibility. They can do both - they must do both.

As a disabled vet I can say my care has been going pretty well under this administartion, much better than during the previous administration when I was almost driven into insanity due to the screw ups and poor attitudes of those providing my care. I also recieved decent care under the Bush senior VA system. I will keep ya'll updated if I feel I am getting hosed by the VA as I made 4 seperate congressional investigations during the clinton yrs, and only 1 so far during the Bush jr yrs. All 5 congressional investigations were judged in my favor, so they obviously had merit. If I am getting screwed by the VA I scream so loud everyone knows it.
