Isn't it a crime to threaten to kill the president? Or maybe he's not in jail because he just said the president should be killed....in public.....at a college commencement....in front of thousands of people.......
or maybe it's because he said "I'm sorry" and that made it all better.
I love how liberals get away with this crap.

Nothing will be done, the man is a Democrat -- no problem.
If a Rebublican had said that the Secret Service would have been all over him.

Nick...babe...the First Amendment does not include threatening language.... just like it doesn't include yelling "fire" in a movie theatre.

Err . . . in case it matters, here's a link to an article that actually contains the quote:
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2006/06/01/AR2006060101471.html
"In the videotaped speech, Hevesi describes Sen. Charles Schumer, D-N.Y., as, 'the man who, how do I phrase this diplomatically, who will put a bullet between the president's eyes if he could get away with it.'"
The actual line is bad, a stupid thing to say certainly, but certainly not a 'threat' -- and it's quite a stretch to say this is advocating assassination. Though you wouldn't get that impression from reading Malkin, surprise, surprise.
Aaaaaaand the guy's Republican opponent has already jumped on the comment, so maybe he'll be kicked out of office for it. That would be entirely appropriate.

"Lisa

Holy crap, Lee, where do you get your history... Hmm, let's review:
John Hinckley(Reagan): Semi-apolitical, Psycho was trying to impress Jody Foster a liberal.
Squeaky Fromme(Ford): Psycho girl from Manson commune.
Lee Harvey Oswald(Kennedy): Communist
Guiseppe Zangara(FDR): Anarchist
John Schrank(Teddy Roosevelt): Another psycho; this was technically an attempt on an ex-Pres. and Pres candidate...
Leon Czolgosz(McKinley): Another anarchist.
Charles Guiteau(Garfield): The infamous "disappointed office seeker" since Garfield was a Republican, Guiteau was almost certainly a Democrat, as this was the age of the patronage system.
Need I go further??

Calm down kids! Remember a gunshot between the Bush eyebrows, right on mark, would miss the brain by almost six feet. See the Reagan assassination attempt for details.

JFH..They certainly wasn't 'Liberals' !!
Anarchists on the political continuum are closer to Libertarians which are closer to Conservatives.
I notice you conveniently left out some notable other assassins..Right wing nutcases all of them.
---
Charles Guiteau; democrats at the time of T. Roosevelt were Conservative. Republicans at that time were more Liberal.
---
I don't think Jody Foster'[s politics had anything to do with motivating Hinckley to attempt to assassinate Reagan. He believed he could get into her pants by committing a 'Headline creating earth-shaking' act. Hell She didn't even know the ass, hole.
My original point was to show how seriously stupid Lisa's statement:
I love how liberals get away with this crap
...Was. And what a cheap shot at Liberals..Which seems to happen all too much on this blog.

I am so disgusted, I don't even know where to begin.....
I was no fan of Bill Clinton, but I would NEVER say or even think most of the crap you liberals have been spewing here about a man who held the highest office in the land.
What the hell is the matter with you people? I'm going to have to start questioning some patriotism around here if I'm not careful...

Oh Matt, grow a sense of humor. The first duty of any patriot is to question, the second is to make fun.
I don't remember seeing your strident defense of the office of the president back when a hack partisan house thought it wise to spend eight million of our dollars and to piss away five years of our time on the question of whether or not a vagina makes a good humidore. I smell bullshit.

Bush 'planted fake news stories on American TV'
By Andrew Buncombe in Washington
Published: 29 May 2006
Federal authorities are actively investigating dozens of American television stations for broadcasting items produced by the Bush administration and major corporations, and passing them off as normal news. Some of the fake news segments talked up success in the war in Iraq, or promoted the companies' products.
Investigators from the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) are seeking information about stations across the country after a report produced by a campaign group detailed the extraordinary extent of the use of such items.

Well Lee has finally outdone himself on his attempts at bullshitting people:
"Every presidential assassination attempt so far, has been carried out by a radical Conservative nutcase.
FYI...."
Yep, ol' Sirhan Sirhan was a registered republican. I have the records to prove it, says lee.
I really hope you are slightly brain damaged, so there would be a reason for you being so utterly fucking stupid and ignorant.
Why don't you get a clue and some oxygen there, papa mike?

Do they, Dimmer? I didn't think they did. Klinton obviously only used them to wet his cigars first. Then committed PERJURY, OBSTRUCTION OF JUSTICE, AND WITNESS TAMPERING to cover it all up. No crimes there, nope. Not one was a demonstrable felony. "Klinton lied, while spooge spots dried!"
And there is a significant difference between the actions of the two presidents in rational (non liberal) minds. One committed multiple felonies to preserve his precious self image while committing immoral acts, the other one took us into a war which was going to happen sooner or later whether or not we like that fact. And Klinton never killed anyone except for the Yugoslavians he illegally attacked in a war of aggression, and various Americans who died as a result of his inability to grow a full set of balls and do the job he got elected to do. He is a prince of a guy. Yup.
Posted by: USMC Steve | Monday, June 05, 2006 at 01:29 PM
Steve, we could go at this forever, but Clinton after a prosecution that you and me paid for, was found innocent on all counts. His crime? Creating the finest economy ever? Ok, I'll see you on that. Preventing all major terrorist attacks on US soil? Yeah, he kinda did. You wanna put Yugo up against the Iraq genocide, oooohkayy. No war for Monica? My how you lie.
Posted by: Dimmer | Monday, June 05, 2006 at 07:13 PM
So bogaloo, you keep bringing these things up. Is your system of justice wrong? They let all of these slide. Rail against that or pee against the wind. Otherwise, don't bother me. Clinton (both him and her) were found innocent of every charge, whereas DeLay, Cheney, Rice - ah not so much. They killed the kids of maybe not you. Liars, murderes, cheats, and scumbags. That's who you stand with? Good luck to you. I'll turn my back if you need me.
Posted by: Dimmer | Monday, June 05, 2006 at 07:18 PM
No Dimmer,he was not. He never received any sort of criminal trial. Had he gotten a criminal trial he would now be a convicted felon. He was impeached. The worst thing that could have happened would have been that the assbag would have had to get a real job and stop impersonating a president. And despite clear evidence that he did what he was accused of, each and every dem in the senate violated their oath of office and let him slide for the loyalty of the dem party, vice the rule of law. Not that this is at all unexpected or surprising, since the dems are good at doing what is good for the dems first, and taking care of the country a distant second.
They even brainwashed liberal swine such as yourself into thinking that a war crime was a noble deed. And we still have people there too, but they don't get shot at as much. The rest of your rant made no sense again, so I am ignoring it since you lapsed into speaking stupid again.
Posted by: USMC Steve | Tuesday, June 06, 2006 at 02:48 PM
So you agree that the actions taken worked? Ok. I'm good with that. You claim that a criminal court would have found Clinton guilty? But the highest court in the US found the exact opposite. His 'highest crime' was that his personal life was his? And even that, no he did no wrong.
If you think Impeachment 2000 rocked, damn you'll love impeachment 2008. We may even let you diebold how we execute the SoB.
Posted by: Dimmer | Wednesday, June 07, 2006 at 08:04 PM
No dimbulb, the supreme court was never involved in any way, shape, or form with klinton's impeachment, nor would they have been. Do you know anything at all about the separation of powers in the federal government?
And how stupid are you really? Why is it that so many liberals are utterly incapable of understanding THAT IT WAS NOT ABOUT A BLOW JOB? Are you all really that stupid?
Lying under oath equals PERJURY. When asked under oath if you were cavorting with a fat intern, and you lie about it, you have COMMITTED PERJURY, typically a felony. Klinton did just that and got caught.
Telling other witnesses to lie about what they know happened, or about their participation in an act equals OBSTRUCTION OF JUSTICE. Klinton told Lewinsky to lie about what they had done, and again, got caught doing that, which act means he was guilty of obstructing justice, another felony.
These are not really hard concepts to grasp, even for libs. Look how easily impeachment and such rolls off your tongues with no hard evidence of any crimes done by Bush, yet you have already convicted him of bunches of them. Oh, I forgot, Situational ethics again, the mantra of the morally bankrupt left.
By the way asshole, are you espousing killing the President of the United States?
