That's your guy, Lisa...protecting us from those who would rain nukular weapons down on us....
Didn't he also arrogantly announce...let's see...about 2 years ago that "...Hostilities are officially over in Iraq.."?
His job approval ratings are down!
His staff morale is down!
The public's perception of his administration's veracity is falling!
Actually, the only thing up is the price of gasoline!
But whose perfect?

I told you along time ago that bush would go down as the worse. Yes I told you so. Enjoy the read.

Hey, I want to know what deep dark secrets Nick Lachey has...
Posted by: Chris | Wednesday, April 19, 2006 at 06:21 AM
Oh yeah HC... like I'm really going to view what Rolling Stone has to say as the gospel....
Puleeeeze.
Posted by: Lisa | Wednesday, April 19, 2006 at 06:54 AM
It's just a magazine, nothing important about it really. Just a freedom of speech issue -- and history hasn't been written yet.

Hmmm, I wonder what a modern day liberal would have said about Lincoln (and what his job approval ranking would have been if they had taken such polls).
BTW, Lee, clever ellipses you use there to quote Bush (and you didn't even get the quote right), you gunning for Modo's job??
Posted by: JFH | Wednesday, April 19, 2006 at 10:10 AM
When dealing with most liberals, accuracy ain't got nothing to do with the facts, or their version of them. Look how the various leftists posting here are grabbing onto the Rolling Stone, as an authoritative source of news. WTF? But then, anything at all that backs their opinions on such things up is going to get their unquestioning support and loyalty. Even former naval officers who gave aid and comfort to the enemy and wrote themselves up for medals they didn't earn.

Whether or not he's the worst depends on the political leanings of who's writing the history of this time period.
You might be a liberal if....you're getting your history from Rolling Stone.

Hmmm, I wonder what a modern day liberal would have said about Lincoln (and what his job approval ranking would have been if they had taken such polls).
Don't be stupid. All modern day liberals would have been thrilled with Lincoln. He placed human rights above economics. He felt that a strong national government trumped individual state's rights. And he was able to write his own speeches and speak in complete sentence.
Posted by: Brooklyn Girl | Wednesday, April 19, 2006 at 01:03 PM
And Rolling Stone has a long, distinguished history of excellent, well-researched writing. I'm sorry if some of you are unfamiliar with that concept.
Posted by: Brooklyn Girl | Wednesday, April 19, 2006 at 01:04 PM
And I'm sorry if you are unfamiliar with the point I was trying to make. History is ALWAYS in the eye of the beholder, and since Rolling Stone is not exactly The Weekly Standard when it comes to dealing with Republicans, it's easy to see why you take what they say at face value, since it appeals to your apparent liberal sensibilities.
Why was that so hard to figure out again?
Posted by: Bombtruck | Wednesday, April 19, 2006 at 01:22 PM
Geeeeze....So much info...so little brain capacity to squeeze it into.....
Bombtruck comparing 'The Weekly Standard' to 'Rolling Zone'is like comparing 'The Pennysaver' to 'The New York Times'!
---
JFH: You're right! Historians agree that Lincoln was assasinated by that "Liberal" nutcake, John Wilkes Booth.
Booth shold be in the 'Guiness Book of Records' as the only Liberal to:
(1) Assasinate a U.S. President
(2) Plot to also assinate the Vice President as well,(but was caught and killed before he could carfy it out.
(3)Sympathize with the Confederate rebels to foment the Civil War.
(4) Be an overt avowed racist.
(5) strongly believed that slavery should last forever in the South.
Even we stupid liberals know that no God-fearin' Conservative would ever hold the above views...doin't we???
----
Lastly, USMCSteve...Again, you resort to disgusting personal attacks against those with whom you disagree...even going so far as to question and insult the patriotism of several retired U.S. Generals who have the gall to critcize the administration's prosecution of this failed war. That is low, even for a slug like you.

BG. You should read something about Lincoln before you say what you say. Lincoln never thought, that with the exception of the freeing of slaves in areas of rebellion, done as the Commander-in-Chief, that he as the President had any Constituional authority to free other slaves held in areas not in rebellion.
If he could have saved the Union by freeing no slaves he would have done that as he stated on occasion.
Actually, Lincoln held people for extended periods of time in prisons without benefit of legal advice, ignored habeous corpus rules, had General Officers in open rebellion (US GOs), a cabinet that plotted against him and though an eloquent writer spoke in a high, thin, reedy, nasal tone and used many backwoods colloquialisms. He was called names (the original Ape-the Baboon and other less flattering), he ignored the Supreme Court and herded the country much like herding cats. He was a master politician. Suffered many political defeats before winning the presidency (though with no majority) and military defeats before finding a General who fought unconditional warfare (ie. close with and destroy the enemy and the enemies refuge-the civilian population and their ability to support their military). Lincoln was ruthless, determined and merciless when he had to be, but compassionate to a fault for the common soldier even though he pressed his generals to throw their men into battle and kill the enemy.
I am a Lincolnophile. There are numerous books, articles and other essays on Lincoln in existence. Both positive and negative.
Suggest you read some.

Lee,
At least the Pennysaver's not employing dishonest reporters and revealing every damn secret op America has like the Times does.
And really, you missed the reason for the comparison.
Posted by: Bombtruck | Thursday, April 20, 2006 at 11:01 AM
Lee. Fuck you assclown. As usual, that is not what I did. But since you are still old and stupid, you cannot grasp facts. Nothing new there. Talked to Farakahan lately? How is that "ruling over whitey" campaign going?
Oh, and stick a slug up your bigoted ass, buttmunch.

Lisa...it seems USMCSteve might have attended the 'Duke Rape-fest'..His language sounds like the kind of language used by the perps!
Posted by: Lee | Thursday, April 20, 2006 at 02:53 PM
Oh, I am stung, nay wounded severely. What an erudite reprimand from such an asswipe. He must be a paragon of liberal virtue. Which is to say utterly unproductive and useless.
Hey Lee, since you know it all, why do so many gentlemen of color call their women "ho's"? Is that some sort of term of endearment that gets lost in translation? It must connotate excessive respect, right? I noticed it usually was delivered while they were tugging on their peckers, but have absolutely no idea what the purpose of that is. Maybe tight underwear or something.
Posted by: USMC Steve | Thursday, April 20, 2006 at 03:45 PM
I am making the prediction that all the libpiggies, Lee in particular, will go absolutely apeshit and lose their minds to the nth degree when this all turns out to be bullshit on the part of the two glorified hookers who made the accusations.
Mark my words, it will not be pretty to see when they have their meltdowns. And it will all be Bush's fault too.

So, to change the subject, anyone care that 2 changes were made in the administration today? Rove going into the midterm elections is good as he is good wherever he goes. McClellan - I never got that bonding feeling that I had with Ari) - this is a good resignation. Tony Snow, of course would be great, utmost of inteligence and integrity and good White House background, but who I really wanted was Dan Senor. I liked him more than Brenmer in that team! He would be amazing, but I guess every time he stood up there, everyone would be thinking of Iraq.
Just throwing out some new stuff to talk respectfully, or sarcastically, or laughingly, but sophisticatedly about.

Hey Chris, if you will note, I generally respond in a like manner to those who address me. If they get snotty and stupid, and start flinging shit like a monkey in a tree, I am going to return their fire.
As to your question, I honestly don't think you would be able to give that job away. It must be the absolute pits to have to deal with those self absorbed members of the 4th estate. God forbid if you didn't say what they wanted to hear, or show them the absolute deference they believe they rate. Someone needs to tell them that not one of them (not even the famous fossil, Helen Thomas) is a head of state.

Oh, USASteve, I donotever disagree with your motive , reason, or manner. (I am usually saying "Okay! You go USA Steve!")
I just have always taken this task of "finding the fork in the road". This task of "showing the other side". This task of "bringing together those who cannot approach each other!" It is a skill that I have the ability to bring about, and I view it very seriously and only use it to portray the best I can(best = good and right and true)
PS USA STEVE, mustn't it be the pits!? Tony has just gotten over his fight with cancer, he has small children, he would be taking a cut in pay! If he does it - please put his name down on the list of American Patriots. (the "side " Repbublican/Democrat doesn't matter)

That's USMC, not USA. Slight difference there.
