This Will Make You Sick...
During our visit to Walter Reed, we all piled into a room of a young soldier who had just come out of surgery. His parents were there to take care of him. His room was decorated with autographed photos...one from Stevie Nicks of Fleetwood Mac who had visited the previous day...others of professional football players. There was also a card from a child...a get well card...
UPDATE: Welcome Hannity and Michelle Malkin Readers.... we hope you hang around and check out Two Babes and a Brain.
..or so one would think.
It was actually a "I hope you die" card. Think I'm kidding? I'm not. We were all speechless. Now I gave my word to the Public Relations officer of Walter Reed that I wouldn't publish any pictures of the soldiers that I took. I'm not sure if that covers pictures of cards, but until I get clarification, I will only quote the card for you and tell you that the handwriting looked like it was from a child in the third to fourth grade.
Here's what it said....
Dear Soldier,
Have a great time in the war.
And have a great time dieing in the war.
From,
Miguel Gallier
P.S. Die
(there were bullet holes drawn around the word "Die")
Unfortunately the envelope wasn't kept so the origin of such a heinous act is unknown. Luckily, this soldier and his parents decided to hold on to the note because you will be seeing more about it on Fox and Brian Kilmeade.
What parents condone this type of hatred? What teacher allowed this note to be sent to a soldier who was wounded serving this country? What school system allows these type of people to teach our children?
To my far left wing anti-war Code Pink, Mama Moonbat Sheehan worshipers...
If you want to protest the war....knock yourself out. If you want to march till the cows come home....by all means, have at it. But don't spew your hatred directly at the soldiers who are injured and sacrificed so that you have the liberty and freedom to protest. Stop using children to promote your agenda. Its shameful and disgusting and the rest of America won't stand for it.

Liberals.

I think it's funny that the thing that sticks out here is this person's assumed political affiliation--I didn't wonder if this person was a liberal or a conservative seemed more appropriate to merely hope he or she gets back on his or her medication--this is about sickness not about politics

Chris and Lisa ~ First thing I'd like to point out is the fact that each morning over coffee, my husband - a Desert Storm Vet and I visit your blog to see what you both are having to say.
This morning our coversation was dominated by *The Card* and I'd like to bring to your attention a Point that my husband made. Two Babes is giving Miguel attention which is obviously what he was hoping for. I would like to ask that you consider adding **'s or something to his name and making it to where if he happens to "google" his name that he won't find much in the way of attention.
Bad behavior does not deserve attention or reward.
Just a suggestion :)

Gayla...
Thanx for the suggestion. Your point is very valid. And I actually thought of that but realized that the soldier who received the card could just have easily thrown it away. Not to mention the fact that the card has now been broadcast on Fox and Friends this morning who have just a tad more viewers that we do readers. haha.
Thanx to you and your husband for spending your mornings with us.. Chris and I really appreciate that.

Chris, it is not all that clear nor did I see anyone say that they thought the kid was a libdim. But the majority of those anti-troop, anti-America, types are libs. I have yet to see a conservative voice in there saying such hateful shit, and if there was one, the entire MSM would have targeted them for all the coverage they could produce on it.
Beyond that, all I can say is that this little pusswad and whoever induced him to do it should both choke to death on their own spit.

ah chris. it is too often, when a "teacher" is involved politics. I taught for two years after retiring from the Corps. Liberalism was rampant. Worked at a University for three years after that. Couldn't spit without hitting a lib.

I would have to agree with the comment above.
I'm a college student right now, and it amazes me to see how the professor's political position influences the way they teach. Most of my professors openly express their political views through the way they teach; most of which are liberal.
Liberalism definatly has an influence on students.
This card makes me physically ill, and to know it came from such a young student makes it worse.

Lisa,
Readers are asking what Joshua's rank is. Do you know?
Thanks for calling attention to this abomination.
Best,
MM

Lisa is travelling home, but we are emailing Jason and his Dad to ask.
Thanks,

Ummm, I don't think this counts as "supporting the troops" ....
If I hear one more defeatist power-hungry leftist Democrat claim they "support the troops" or complain that their patriotism is being impugned, I'm gonna hurl. On them.
The fact is that these are precisely the people - and the same party - that counselled surrender in the Civil War and Vietnam, who simply have no understanding of the world or care more for their own power than for the welfare of the nation. Patriots? Bah! They're not quite treasonous, but it's getting closer than one would like to admit.

A little known fact, but not hard to accept, given the traditions of the Democrats, is that there were multiple branches of the Democratic party back in the Civil War (over a half dozen), and they only agreed on a very few things; the Civil War was unjust and should not have been fought, and owning black people as slaves was all right.
That kinda says something about them historically. They were then and are now obstructionists and situational ethicists.

the Copperhead Democrats of the Civil War era sort of make the present day ones look like pikers...but not by much.

I am sure Cindy Sheehan would condemn this card. I know I do. Our troops are Heroes and deserve our Thanks and Prayers.
Posted by: HC | Monday, December 05, 2005 at 12:21 PM
Saint Cindy would probably only be pissed off because it is getting more news space and more attention on weblogs than she is. Other than that, I seriously doubt she would care at all.
As Jack Nicholson once said, she is "full goose bozo".

Dear Miguel Gallier.
I hope you are sodomized by your priest, you little spic bastard. Why don't you sneak back south of the border and suck off the Mexican government's teat for a while? I hope you get AIDS and die.
Posted by: | Monday, December 05, 2005 at 01:04 PM
I know that Cindy wants to end this war so no more Troops would be Injured or Die in Iraq.

Hey nameless
Two wrongs doesnt make a right. Your Comment is just as bad as Miguel's. I wonder if Fox will put your comment on the News.

HC, the unnamed one is simply availing himself of his first amendment rights to be hateful, as did the little penis wrinkle who wrote the card. In this case though, it was a response provoked by a little slimebag probably with a little liberal adult guidance. When one does something patently stupid, one reaps the consequences of their actions, in this case the disapproval of others, and in this case, it is very clear that the unnamed one is very, very disapproving. Too bad the message cannot get back to the little moron.

we are assuming this is a child and not someone acting as the child (as opposed to acting childish)...
all I can say is "goes around... comes around"
just sayin'

I don't see how someone can claim to support the troops without also supporting their mission. To claim otherwise is simply to posit a nonsequitur.
Posted by: SWLiP | Monday, December 05, 2005 at 03:15 PM
"But the majority of those anti-troop, anti-America, types are libs."
An interesting, if totally baseless, assumption.
The libs aren't the ones who lied their way into this war, nor are they the ones who refused to send sufficient numbers of troops to get the job done, nor are they the ones who are depriving the troops of the armor and equipment they require to do the job safely, nor are they the ones promoting the anti-American practice of torture.
Anyway, whatever the political affiliation of the person who sent the hypothetical card, they really need to get some help.

"I don't see how someone can claim to support the troops without also supporting their mission."
That's really a failure of imagination on your part.
One may consider the mission itself to be an illegal, botched operation being mismanaged by a bunch of inept criminals, and yet, one may still respect those troops who make the best effort to perform their duty honorably under horrific circumstances that are beyond their control.

As is clear, you don't know the answers to any of those questions. You have no idea from whom the card came. So your addressing anti-war types as if they condoned any such thing is idiotic. But typical. Reliance on this kind of b.s. is why you have lost the battle for public opinion.

No saraphiel, it ain't. It is FACT. Look at Moron.org, or Mikey Moore's sites, or code Pink, etc, etc, etc. There is your proof if you are smart enough to recognize it. I have YET to see one single conservative come on any of the many weblogs I have perused and make the insane statements of the leftists, who are unable and/or unwilling to accept the fact that what has happened in Iraq and Afghanistan is in our best interests and that of those people. Has anyone else ever seen any conservatives railing about this saying anything like the drivel of the leftists? If you had ever been to either of those countries and seen what their lives were like in such an oppressive regime, you would possibly understand that. And if the mission was really bullshit, you would see that coming from the troops themselves. They ain't drones, they bitch like nothing you ever saw when they think something is screwed up. You go on making those distinctions though. I have a hunch you are a leftist yourself. Make sure to introduce yourself to HC (not so bad at times) and Catastrophile (rabid leftist at the best of times). They ought to welcome your company.
