That's horrible! I certainly hope this was not sent from any public institution....
Posted by: Trelaina | Monday, December 05, 2005 at 08:00 AM
A fine example of how successful the NEA's program "Dumbing down America" has been.
Maybe this foolish little tool will choke to death on his own spit. We can only hope.

ach du lieber, Marine. Sometimes these youngsters are encouraged by their teachers to do this.
Posted by: jestplainol'bill | Monday, December 05, 2005 at 08:12 AM
Why in the Hell was this allowed?
Posted by: HC | Monday, December 05, 2005 at 08:13 AM
It was allowed for 2 reasons HC... either the teacher didn't take the time to preview the cards or the teacher just felt the same way and allowed this piece of trash to be delivered to a young man who sacrificed so that that teacher and student had the freedom to spew such hatred.
The irony just slaps you in the face, doesn't it.
Posted by: Lisa | Monday, December 05, 2005 at 08:43 AM
Jesplainolbill, I have no doubt that the teacher was the driving force behind it. Too many generations ago, when I was 10, if my teacher told me to do something stupid, I didn't do it though. And in this day and age of rebellious youth, I find it odd that the kid would mindlessly do the teacher's bidding. May be, maybe not. In any case, a pox upon all those involved.

I didn't know that cat was sending get well cards to our soldiers?
Posted by: Capitalist Infidel | Monday, December 05, 2005 at 09:44 AM
I wondered when this would start happening. It was only a matter of time before these pieces of trash started peddling their crap to our soldiers. Even so, it's still hard to believe anyone can be this perverse.
I hope that hell is hot enough for them.

This card probably got through the teacher's "scrutiny,"because A) She thinks it's cute, and harmless or B) He/She is having sex with miguel. Poor kid, at 18 he'll probably get drafted, when the Democrats re-institute the military draft. Then he'll know what it's like.Only then, will he realize, what a soldier feels.
Posted by: john vanderslice | Monday, December 05, 2005 at 10:38 AM
Cappy, I love that post. I had the same thought. It is right down Cat's line of reasoning. But wait! He supports the troops, just not their mission, their government, or their country. Other than that he loves the troops...

Gee, does anybody have an address for little Miguel so we can send him some Christmas greetings? And perhaps an English dictionary...

Disgusting.
I wonder what libtard teacher (or parent) put this kid up to it.
Traitors suck.
Posted by: jimmyb | Monday, December 05, 2005 at 11:10 AM
Don't get me wrong. This is not good. As a retired Marine I am very angry. As a former teacher I know how the teaching profession (ha!) has bit the big weenie since they became educators instead of teachers and have been indoctrinated by the teaching colleges.
Posted by: jestplainol'bill | Monday, December 05, 2005 at 11:25 AM
While I can certainly believe that some adult(s) were behind this at some level, isn't it also possible that Miguel has problems in his life that led to this? Anger or pain at something else is frequently expressed in unrelated places. I'm not trying to justify the message (my son and husband both fought over there), but I am trying to keep from leaping off a cliff of presumption. Of course, it is just as likely that there is no "child" behind this at all, and that the whole thing is part of a larger campaign by some truly twisted adults...but there is no evidence in yet for either position, is there?

If this is the only one, I conclude that our kids are OK.

This is why my daughter is in private school!! My heart goes out to this soldier that received this DISGUSTING piece of mail. I hope he reads this and knows that the large majority of the American's in this country are in support of ALL of our troups, no matter where they are. A huge hug, kiss and God Bless you!!!
Posted by: TSR | Monday, December 05, 2005 at 11:43 AM
What does that word say prior to him signing "Miguel"? Is that his last name? Maybe somebody can trace this back to the punk who wrote it and expose him, his school, his teacher.
Posted by: Anonymous | Monday, December 05, 2005 at 11:49 AM
Has the kid been arrested, you can't issue death threats and get away with it to my knowledge.
Posted by: TexMex | Monday, December 05, 2005 at 01:06 PM
I am absolutely disgusted! Even during VietNam the wounded weren't treated like this. If this was done under the sponsorship of a school or teacher, heads should roll! If it was the "child's" idea, he needs a visit to a severe wounds ward! To think that I have spent the last 30 years defending his First Amendment Rights!
Posted by: MasterDiver | Monday, December 05, 2005 at 01:55 PM
Twisted little kid. Remember, Ted Bundy and Jeffrey Dahmer were 8 year olds once.
Find this child before he rapes and kills the neighbors daughter.

It looks like something from one of the freeper trolls.
Posted by: Wirro | Monday, December 05, 2005 at 01:58 PM
Ultimately, this is what the MoveOn.org mentality has wrought. They can't even have the decency to leave the wounded alone.
Cowards they are!
Posted by: joe-6-pack | Monday, December 05, 2005 at 02:17 PM
Ugh. It's possible this was done by an adult under the guise of it being writteb by a child. Or it was done by a child under the "supervision" of a sick adult who thinks it is funny to do this sort of stuff. Or we simple have a confused child. All the same, it seems clear that the Soldiery-hatred that I combat dailin up here in Seattle is spread through pockets across the country. I sometimes think this is a product of losing the draft. When everybody had a father or uncle or brother who was military, very few people thought hating the military was "cool" or even sane. Not today. Lost of kids have grown up with teachers and parents who were products of Woodstock and the Veitnam poison, so all they know is hating troops and hating America. It was dispensed to them in their breast milk.
Hopefully the soldier who got this card has already gotten more than enough supportive messages and other cards from everyone tuning in to this disgrace. Perhaps our major Armed Forces medical institutions like Madigan and Walter Reed and others, ought to start screening the "To Any Soldier" mail that is coming in this holiday season. Our wounded deserve better than to be slapped in the face like this.
