Who Died and Left the UN Boss...
Putting Al Gore's invention of the Internet aside, it is a fact that the Internet was created and developed in the United States. Any dollars spent in the development of the Internet were American dollars...
So why does the UN think it has the right to just take it over?
Yes, the UN wants to take over the supervision of the Internet, already developing a committee dubbed the Working Group on Internet Governance (WGIG). What a disaster waiting to happen. Yeah, let's put China in charge of the committee and see just how far our freedoms would go.
The UN, apparently in anticipation of taking over, went as far as developing detailed plans to tax the Internet back in 1999.
Does the UN actually think that we are just going to hand over the rights to the Internet over to them? And if we don't...what are they going to do, take it? Yeah, riiiiight. This is simply a case of the UN seeing an opportunity to steal money fr.om not only American citizens but citizens of countries all over the world. If we thought the oil for food program was bad...imagine what they would do with this
NO..the Internet is just fine where it is...in the country that created, developed and paid for it...in the country that offers more rights to it's citizens than any other.

That would be because they are the U.N.!
They think that actually counts for something, Lisa. Where they got that idea, I have no idea, but that is the way it is.

Although the Internet began as a computer network of ARPA (ARPAnet) that linked computer networks at several universities and research laboratories in the United States. The World Wide Web which is the practical application we all use was developed in 1989 by British computer scientist Timothy Berners-Lee for the European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN). So there! ;0)
