I didn't know ...
Charles Rangel had an M.D.
Apparently he thinks he does because he was on television Friday night diagnosing Vice President Dick Cheney as a "sick man" and a man who has "heart disease" which according to Rangel, isn't "restricted to that part of the body."
Interesting. Maybe Dr. Rangel should elaborate as to exactly where else in one's body one could have "heart disease". Can you have heart disease in you liver or your brain?
Please Dr. Rangel, enlighten us with your intellect. Apparently this highly scientific diagnosis is all based on the fact that Rangel thinks the Vice President "grunts". Yes, he said the Vice President grunts.
Rangel goes on to say that Rumsfeld is running the country. I guess President Bush is just arm candy. And to think that Cindy Sheehan has wasted all this time protesting in Crawford when she should be standing outside of Rumsfeld's home. Wow, has anyone told Cindy? Maybe Rangel should give her a ring on her cell.
Look, all I can say is that I am so glad Rangel is a democrat. He is a prime example of what's wrong with that party. It was bad enough that he compared Iraq with the Holocaust and introduced a Bill to reinstate the draft...now he's playing doctor to the Vice President and making statements about something that he knows absolutely nothing about.
Maybe Rangel should grunt more and speak less. Then he wouldn't make such an ass of himself.

Hat tip: Angry in the Great White North and thanx to Michelle for sending me there.

Maybe C. Rangel needs to put less grease in his hair, I really think it seeped into his brain and there was some damage.
R. Dengler MD...:)
Why can't our Government Officals grow up? Or at least grow balls...

At least Frist IS an MD...remember when liberals (and quite a few conservatives, as I recall) gave Frist the once over during Schiavo......

Somehow Frist making a medical diagnosis is scarier that Rengel doing it. He has an MD so people might actually believe he has a clue and Frist has a track record of being wrong. I don't agree with Rengel but Frist is obviously incompetent...

Charlie Rangel and his ilk, Sharpton, Jackson, do more than make stupid statements. They have collectively done more to keep black people down than anything else. That is their crime. Their stupidity is axiomatic, but in the end what they've done to their own race is deplorable.
That is what gripes me.

...so I take it that we shouldn't really consider Frist's position on say...stem cells...because of his MD either...???
Posted by:Matt Hurley | Tuesday, August 30, 2005 at 11:53 AM
absolutely not--I was pro-stem cell research before Frist was and we don't want him as part of our group--we'll take his vote if he is so inclined to give it but his opinions and comments should be kept to himself--anything he is favor of is suspect--check his campaign filings and polling data to see what issue he will be for or against next

How Moveon.org of you, Chris. I was expecting more... You'll implore anybody who will listen to give Biden a chance, yet you will dismiss Frist without a second thought...
What's that smell??? Hypocrisy... Could be...
Posted by:Matt Hurley | Tuesday, August 30, 2005 at 03:12 PM
It isn't hypocrisy Matt. This is the same Senator that for no good reason insulated pharmecutical companies from lawsuit in the Patriot Act claiming it was necessary because of anthrax and small pox vaccinations except the substance that is in question--themerisol--isn't in those vaccines. He is also the same person who helped seal a government study on the affects of vacinations--with a private drug company--so that the public could not have access to the information--he is the same person that said Terri Schiavo could see and was responding to stimuli when as a doctor he should have known better than most that that was at best highly unlikely and he has changed his position on stem cell research for political expediency. He takes huge amounts of money from drug companies and votes their interests almost every time. He is not a good man and I have listened all I need to to Senator Frist to know that whatever he says I'd like independent research to verify.

THAT , about them, is what gripes me too, Phoenix. THAT is their crime -yes. BUT, their stupidity is NOT self-evident (had to look up
axio..) What is evident is that they are NOT STUPID! As they keep black people down and dependant on them for inspiration, they get to be kept "UP" there, as a force and a leader and a face of a movement.
(Bill Cosby is here in Western Massachusetts speaking a different story and motivation but those guys you mention will not support his "Rainbow" cause in his world people are getting OVER the rainbow. Cosby is way past "Keep Hope Alive" and into "Hope ain't makin' it happen" Hope is not a method (as Col. Hunt would say!)

Oh, in responding to Phoenix, forget to get to the main idea of the story.
Charlie Rangel makes me sick!
Didn't he say that we should have a draft since the only guys signing up were poor black guys whose life offerred nothing else?
Well, I have meet military guys who have enlisted and re-enlisted and NOT ONE was someone who could do nothing better with his life. NOT ONE was someone I would not admire and respect.
When watching those National Guardsmen going in to rescue our fellow American citizens from Katrina's effects, should I just figure they don't really want to be there but had nothin better going on? They looked pretty focused and committed to me. Thank God for them all at home or abroad.
If they are black or are poor, give them a little credit Mr. Rangel, for having made an honorable choice.

Chris S.,
You're right. But when they open their mouths, their stupidity is right there for anyone with a brain to see. Perfect example you just gave. What is sad is that a majority of blacks buy into their crap. I'm hoping it's not a majority anymore, but who knows. Rangel is just disgusting. Jackson and Sharpton are a bit more clever in at least knowing when to keep their mouths shut. But they're all on the same page.
