I woke this morning to find an article in the WaPo citing more alleged abuse at Gitmo. If you believe what they write, the soldiers there are acting more like an urban street gang than the professionals that they truly are. Amnesty International issued a report stating Gitmo was "the gulag of our time" and labeled the U.S. "a leading purveyor and practitioner" of torture. Yup, that us, the ole' purveyors of torture. This would be sad if it wasn't so damn funny.
I find it interesting that all of the MSM takes these accusations at face value. I mean, it couldn't be that the inmates are lying and using our own media against us. What's even more interesting is the fact that the WaPo left out a number of inmate interviews that didn't allege any abuse at all. In fact, one inmate had disputed Koran abuse allegations. And frankly, some of this stuff doesn't bother me in the least. There was a report that a female interrogator had been reprimanded for smearing ink on a prisoner and telling him it was menstrual blood. So what! That's not torture, that's humiliation. If it helps with getting information that is beneficial in the war on terror, I say go for it baby. And, to be honest, I'm not too concerned about the handling of the Koran either. Yeah, yeah, I know, some say it should be compared to Jesus and should be treated with the utmost care and we must respect their religion for which they supposedly value so much. Personally, I think they value it when it benefits them.
Well what about what we value. Life. If you notice, these terrorist groups aren't holding any prisoners. Why, because they kill them; they gather the captives in a room and gun them down or they cut off their heads while videotaping it. Then, they broadcast the videotape all over the world for everyone to see. Do you think our men and women were able to file complaints before they were killed? I don't think so. Where is Amnesty International and WaPo and Newsweek when the beheadings are going on? Oh, and where is the esteemed International Committee of the Red Cross. They are silent. What else is new.

PS: Go here for a the list of FBI complaints.

Amen Sister! Amazing how the left will take the word of the terrorists, who, by the way, are taught to do this very thing in the al Qaeda handbook, over our military.
By the way I didn't see the left or the liberal media say anything about the Bible being used as toilet paper by terrorists back in 2002.

Good point Cappy. You're right, the did use the bible for toilet paper.
Have you read Colonel Hunt's book. If you haven't, you should. I'm reading it right now and I can't believe what they have in the al Quaeda training manual.

I got it a couple of weeks ago and it's 3rd on my list. I'm in the middle of "Intellectual Morons" right now. I thought it was going to be a lighthearted look at academia but it's an in depth look at how the left has distorted history.
I just got through with South Park Conservatives. That was pretty good.

Cappy:
I will have to get South Park Conservatives. I think my son may be one. Although not knowing the true definition, maybe I shouldn't come to that conclusion just yet.
