LISA's BIO

Lisa_1 My name is Lisa and I was born and raised in the historic red state of Virginia. I attended--notice I didn’t say graduated from--the University of Richmond with a major in Paralegal Studies. I spent about 19 years working in the legal field and amazingly have managed, by sheer force of will, to avoid an extended stay in the local psychiatric ward.  In April of '06 I picked up and moved to the wonderful town of Sylva in the beautiful Smokey Mountains of western North Carolina.  I own Spring Street Cafe there in downtown and love every hectic, crazy moment of it.  I bought a 1943 farm house so I guess I'm here for a while.  My 116 pound chocolate lab, Sampson, whom I adopted from the local pound, is always there to greet me with a smile after long hours at the restaurant.  I have three beautiful kids: ages 21, 20 and 15.  The girls are Irish twins, born 364 days apart.  Now that’s family planning at its best.

I met a wonderful man who has asked me to marry him.  He is intelligent, sexy and accomplished but most of all, he has a kind heart and a beautiful soul.  I once told him that he was my "Dream Date Ken" but he prefers to be called my "G.I. Joe", being a graduate of West Point and all.

I consider myself a moderate Republican.. conservative on security and financial issues and more liberal on social issues.  I drive a pick-up truck and wear hunting camo to retriever events just to make a fashion statement.  My friend and blog buddy Chris once referred to me as a red-neck but I just prefer the term outdoorsy.  My all time favorite movie is Steel Magnolias (gee, wonder why) and my all time favorite music group is Fleetwood Mac. Metallica comes in a close second.  I used to be proud of the fact that I was a reader of only the classics--with a little Tolkein mixed in. That’s how it used to be until my good buddy Chris introduced me to the Stephanie Plum novels written by Janet Evanovich.  I am now an addict and used to have lust fantasies about being captured by Ranger, the primo, kick-ass bounty hunter but now...after being swept off my feet.... I don't give Ranger a second thought.

CHRIS's BIO

Chris_again My name is Chris and I am a New Englander—a member of the cool, aloof, ivy-league North East blue staters. I grew up in New Hampshire and currently reside in Rhode Island. I am a stay-at-home-Mom to three children—two boys and a girl--ages “almost 8”, 6, and 5. The answer to your next question is yes, we did figure out what is causing it and no, we don’t do it any more. My husband is patiently waiting for me to enter menopause.

I attended and graduated—despite my best attempts—from St.Anselm College with a degree in political science and spent some time working on campaigns, back when democrats were electable. After that I waitressed—the money was better, worked for a non-profit, a computer company and various other things. I met and married a wonderful man who stays with me in spite of my genetically induced insanity and reproduced at a pace that would make my Irish ancestors proud.

Recently, I went back to work—kind of. I am a freelance writer, which could mean anything, but in this case it means I just helped someone write a book that was actually published.

I may have turned Lisa on to the Stephanie Plum books, but I read them first and Ranger is all mine.
